Discussed candidate's visit to the vicinity and critiqued all activities for any future improvements.
Decided that Faith House yard needs to be mowed and lighting in the sanctuary needs to be addressed.
Reviewed two other PIFs and decided to read and evaluate ten other PIFs for next meeting.

COM will be contacted to obtain approval for intent to call, after which time candidate will be notified.
Determined that Faith House is still being used by the Catalyst program.
Schoolers have offered their guest house as temporary housing for new minister if needed.
Discussed Bernice Parker's house as potential purchase or rental by new minister.

October 31, 2011 PNC Update
Reviewed previous PIF based upon candidate's email inquiry. PNC determined no change in status.
Seven
interview questions were selected to be sent to the remaining seven
candidates on short list. Imposed response deadline of NOV 8.
PNC members will call the seven candidates' references and report findings at next meeting.
Made additional edits to pastor job description and decided to name the document Pastoral Guidelines and Expectations.

Reduced candidate list to 15.
Listened to sermon from #80 and offered comments.
September 26, 2011, PNC Meeting Update
Discussed one candidate's references and other potential candidates referred by David Evans and/or Susan Penrod.
Suggestion made that the PNC take another look at a couple of candidates.
Recorded scores of the third set of candidates which will be averaged upon receipt of Susan Stacy's ratings.
For
the meeting on October 3, each PNC member to prepare a statement to
address reasons for SAPC's current search and review the top candidates
again along with the new PIFs for the remaining two candidates.

September 7, 2011 PNC Meeting Update
--Meeting focused on formalizing candidate interview questions.
--Targeting 1 hour for each interview, 45 minutes of questions by PNC and 15 for Q&A from candidate.
--Revised questions to be rewritten and reviewed at next meeting.
--First 25 PIFs will be reviewed and rated by each PNC member prior to and average scores will be calculated at next mtg.
August 22, 2011 PNC Meeting Update
Revised CIF, using
suggestions from David Jones & Susan Penrod.
PNC will review changes before CIF sent for first approval.
CIF will then be sent to Chair of COM and Regional Coordinator.
After all approvals received, CIF will be posted online.
PNC to prepare interview questions prior to next meeting.
August 15, 2011 PNC Meeting Update
Susan
Penrod,
SAPC’s newly named liaison from COM and a recent PNC member for St.
Mark in Boerne, attended our meeting and made various recommendations re
our CIF and the search process.
The CIF was sent to David Evans and David Jones for their input.
In
addition to PIFs (Personal Information Forms) from prospective pastors,
the PNC asked Susan Penrod and will ask David Evans and David Jones for
contact information for potential candidates.
August 8, 2011 PNC Update
Was notified that Carla Mathews is new COM Chair and John Wurster is Regional Coordinator for the Hill Country.
Will request permission from potential CIF references to use their names.
Finalized draft of CIF and will ask that David Jones, David Evans and someone on COM review and adv comments and suggestions.
Will obtain salary for CIF from Sesson at meeting on AUG 14.

Forty-four surveys returned.
Scoring was tabulated and results posted on website and in July newsletter.
Discussed definitions of Mission and Vision Statements and Ministry Plan which
will be the focus of the next meeting on July 6.

Powell, moderator of the COM (Committee on Ministry) will guide the SAPC PNC during the search process.
SAPC PNC will:
--keep
the congregation informed when possible
--form a ministry plan and vision statement
--form a prayer group of 3-4 church members to pray specifically during the PNC's search
--utilize various resources to create the CIF
--develop a congregational survey
PNC elected Linda Brown as Chair and Susan Stacy as Secretary
